San Juan, Puerto Rico - March 2011

Joe and I decided to take a spring break vacation to San Juan in the middle of March. We rented a small condo on Condado Beach. The street where our condo was located came to a dead end in the sand, and our condo was located directly on the gorgeous beach front. In our condo, we were lucky to enough to have a solid wall of glass that faced the ocean. So we awoke each morning to the warm salty breeze that was taunting us to get up early and start our day! We enjoyed spicy and mouth watering Puerto Rico cuisine, exploring centuries old military fortresses, body surfing the gnarly waves in the ocean, and hiking/zip lining/ropelling in the rainforest, among other things. Joe's favorite food was canoas... which are sweet plantains that are sliced in half and stuffed with seasoned beef/pork, and topped with cheese. Lora's favorite food was the MOJITOS... hahaha! Hey, they have mint, lime, and sugar in them... so technically they're a food! We would both love to return to Puerto Rico some day... Joe is just dying to go golfing and surfing. One of the bonus perks was meeting Sahid, the sexy professional surfer who looked like a Venezuelan Jesus! :)
